We’re always looking for new ways to raise the bar. We’re searching for a commercially driven Business Development Manager with a proven track record of driving sales and building strong client relationships.
The Business Development Manager (BDM) is responsible for securing new business and growing corporate, government, conferencing & events and Travel Management Company (TMC) partnerships for Holiday Inn Auckland Airport.
This is a highly proactive, externally focused sales role, with a strong emphasis on face-to-face client engagement and market presence. A large portion of the role will be spent out of the hotel meeting clients and developing partnerships across the Auckland Airport and South Auckland business corridor.
The role focuses on identifying new opportunities, converting business and developing existing accounts to grow room nights, ADR and total hotel revenue.
A Little Taste of Your Day-to-Day
Every day is different, but you’ll mostly be:
- Conducting regular face-to-face client meetings with corporate travel managers, procurement teams and local businesses
- Prospecting and developing new business opportunities within the Auckland Airport and South Auckland business corridor
- Building and maintaining relationships with corporate, government and Travel Management Company (TMC) partners
- Identifying opportunities to grow corporate room nights, meetings and events, and group accommodation revenue
- Maintaining a structured sales pipeline, progressing opportunities through to conversion
- Representing the hotel at networking events, industry functions and client meetings
What We Need From You
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in sales, marketing, hospitality or related field (preferred)
- Minimum 2+ years’ experience in hotel sales, corporate sales or business development
- Proven ability to generate new corporate business and build long-term client partnerships
- Strong negotiation, networking and relationship-building skills
- Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
- Highly organised with the ability to manage an active sales pipeline and multiple client relationships
- Ability to work independently and proactively manage a schedule of external client meetings
- Full New Zealand driver’s licence
- Willingness and ability to travel regularly within the Auckland region for client meetings, sales calls and networking events
