The Role
The Development Director drives the strategic growth of IHG Brands, Essentials & Suites, through the negotiation of management contracts and franchise agreements to maximize value creation for IHG PLC shareholders. Ensures IHG business is conducted and business objectives are achieved in compliance with IHG global and regional strategic priorities.
Your Day-to-Day
- Achieve annual franchise sales quota for assigned territory in Mexico.
- Develop and implement annual sales budget and action plan for Mexico according to Company’s strategic development plan.
- Prospect, negotiate, and close franchise sales via phone solicitation and sales presentations.
- Present new projects, change of ownership and license renewals to local and corporate Franchise Approval Committees.
- Develop annual expense budget and maintain P&L results within budget. Anticipate and report any significant variance to Vice-President.
- Coordinate application/licensing process with Franchise Administration to ensure proper licensing.
- Identify and pursue opportunities for additional development as they arise.
- Monitor and be familiarized with competitors’ development strategies and plans.
What We Need from You
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in business or a relevant field of work, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.
- 5+ years progressive work-related experience in franchise sales or equivalent, with demonstrated mastery of technical and business knowledge and understanding of hotel industry operations
- Demonstrated project management experience in organizing, planning and executing large-scale projects from conception through implementation.
- Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills for the purpose of providing information to clients, vendors, senior management and staff.
- Demonstrated business/financial negotiation and influencing/consensus building skills
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of effective sales and marketing strategies such as client prospecting and cultivation, new product evaluation, brand positioning and strategic fit
Location – Remote: Mexico City preferred
