As Director of Human Resources, I will fully comprehend the vision of Six Senses to help people reconnect with themselves, others and the world around them and our values of local sensitivity and global sensibility, crafted experiences, emotional hospitality, responsible and caring, fun and quirky and pioneering wellness. 

Sustainability, Wellness and Out of the Ordinary experiences are at the core of everything we do at Six Senses. I will safeguard these pillars and their strategic planning and development, ensuring all activities, initiatives and practices are activated and embraced within the hotel. 

Duties and Responsibilities 

As Director of Human Resources, I will assume full responsibility for the efficient operation of the Human Resources department to provide exceptional products and services within brand operating standards. In conjunction with the General Manager and other executives, I will be a key participant in setting the strategic direction of the property. I will be joining this hotel during the pre-opening phase and therefore the initial months will be focused on preparing the hotel for opening, after which the role will evolve to support the smooth running of the open hotel.  

 

The duties and responsibilities will include: 

  • Strategically partner the General Manager across the full HR spectrum

  • Set up and oversee the entire HR department on property, including managing the HR team, preparing and implementing the resort’s human resources and manpower plan, managing the HR budget (including benefits and payroll), recruitment, performance, talent and succession planning, training and induction, host engagement and labor relations.

  • Lead on the HR-related pre-opening activities until the hotel is open, including activating the HR critical path, guiding the General Manager and hotel Executive Committee on all HR matters, and recruitment.

  • Oversee recruitment, succession planning and career development plans, conduct host satisfaction surveys and formulation of corrective action, arrange periodic host meetings and awards, champion the performance management system (G&O), analyze host turnover statistics and trends, ensure job descriptions are up-to-date and relevant and maintain confidential host files. 

  • Conduct periodic salary and benefits surveys and make recommendations to remain competitive and in line with local prevailing statutes. 

  • Be responsible for Host facilities, Host restaurant, Host committee, careers fairs and other activities as required.

  • Champion the social and environmental activities in coordination with the Sustainability Manager and coordinate with the identified organizations to carry out all planned social responsibility initiatives. 

  • Continually focus on talent management for our hotel and for Six Senses. 

  • Constantly assess training and human resources practices to remain relevant and effective.

  • Establish and deliver pre-established financial returns related to revenue generation, profitability and ROIC. 

Operate the property consistent with all legal, statutory and financial requirements and documentation, reporting systems, contractual obligations, security and safety protocols, communications, product and service standards. Ensure host management practices and budgetary controls are implemented, reviewed and maintained to ensure the successful operation of the hotel. 

Qualifications

We’re looking for someone Out of the Ordinary, passionate about our brand and about luxury hospitality, with the following qualifications, technical skills and experience: 

  • Proven results in senior HR roles within luxury hotels (5 years + ), with proven experience in Israel.

  • Hotel pre-opening and Training experience preferred.

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Communications or Business Management or equivalent experience. 

  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Computer programs; Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc., and Human Resources/payroll systems. ADP/Timesaver experience preferred. 

  • Professional HR designation (PHR, SPHR or other) preferred. 

  • Fluent in English and Hebrew

  • Must have the right to work in Israel and knowledge of local labour legislation and HR landscape.
