General Manager (Pre-Opening) - Vignette Collection Vaagali Resort, Maldives

Vignette Collection Vaagali Resort is a new-build, all-villa luxury resort in the Maldives. The resort is designed to deliver highly personalized guest experiences, with a strong focus on sustainability, sense of place, and immersive leisure offerings, aligned with Vignette Collection’s hallmarks of individuality, meaningful stays, and ‘Means for Good’.

 

Your day-to-day:

As General Manager, you will ensure unforgettable guest experiences and a high-performing team. While no two days are the same, you will:

People 

  • Develop programs and initiatives to increase team engagement that are aligned with the hotel’s service philosophy
  • Develop, implement and monitor team member succession planning to ensure future bench strength
  • Establish performance and development goals for team members and provide mentoring, coaching and regular feedback to enhance performance
  • Oversee HR-related actions in accordance with company rules and policies

Guest Experience

  • Demonstrate brand citizenship by maintaining compliance with all required brand and service standards
  • Drive improvement in guest satisfaction goals
  • Collaborate with colleagues and hotel team members to establish and implement services and programs that meet or exceed guest expectations
  • Speak to guests – ask for their feedback and build relationships

Financial  

  • Prepare annual capital, cash flow and sales and marketing plans to accurately forecast budgets
  • Analyze financials to drive revenues, future profitability and maximum return on investment
  • Use distribution channels and technology platforms to drive revenue and maximize market share
  • Lead capital plans and asset management initiatives, including working with owners to maintain or improve the property’s market leadership position

Responsible Business  

  • Ensure a safe and secure environment for guests, colleagues and hotel assets
  • Act as public relations representative to raise awareness of the hotel and brand in the local community
  • Drive team member involvement in community organizations, activities and businesses
  • Develop and carry out action plans to be environmentally conscious by taking steps to reduce the hotel’s carbon footprint
  • Perform other duties as assigned and serve as Manager on Duty as required

 

What we’re looking for in you 

  • Proven General Manager experience, ideally in Luxury & Lifestyle or resort environments
  • Expertise in stakeholder management, fostering key partnerships within the business and local community
  • Strong commercial acumen and a proven track record in driving financial and operational performance
  • Capacity to build and lead a high-performing and engaged team with a commitment to developing and coaching colleagues
  • Financial acumen with experience in budgeting, forecasting and full P&L management
  • Expertise across hotel operations, revenue management, and customer and brand service standards
  • Experience in pre-opening or new-build resorts would be an advantage
  • Must speak fluent English
