We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented HR & Payroll Executive to join our HR team at IHG Hotels & Resorts – Malta.
Reporting to the Cluster Director of HR & Training, the selected candidate will play a key role in supporting the HR department with administrative excellence, accurate payroll processing, and positive employee relations across our properties – InterContinental Malta, Holiday Inn Express Malta, and VOCO Malta.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day HR administration, including onboarding, offboarding, personnel file management, and maintaining accurate and confidential employee records.
- Prepare and process employment contracts, letters, and HR-related documentation in line with company policies and local legislation.
- Support monthly payroll preparation, ensuring data accuracy, timely updates, and collaboration with the HR & Payroll Specialist and Finance team.
- Administer employee benefits, attendance, and leave management in compliance with Maltese Labour Law and IHG policies.
- Maintain accurate HR systems and databases, including employee status changes, benefits, and salary adjustments.
- Assist in the implementation of HR compliance requirements, audits, and reporting.
- Act as a first point of contact for employee relations, addressing queries, resolving issues, and promoting positive workplace communication.
- Support HR initiatives that enhance colleague engagement, wellbeing, and development.
Requirements
- Proven experience in HR administration, payroll, and employee relations, ideally within the hospitality or service industry.
- Good knowledge of Maltese Labour Law and HR/payroll procedures.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and time management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications; experience with Shireburn or similar HR/payroll systems will be considered an asset.
- Ideally having previous experience with processing of work permits and VISA’s
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in English; knowledge of Maltese is an advantage.
- High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.
