We have an exciting new opportunity for a Senior Fire Safety Manager (Engineering). This role will take a lead in shaping and strengthening IHG’s global fire safety approach, ensuring our hotels remain safe, resilient, and future-ready.
As part of our Global Safety & Security team, within the wider Business Reputation & Responsibility (BRR) function, you’ll be our lead fire strategy expert, partnering closely with our Safety & Security Directors, Hotel Operations teams, and senior business leaders across the EMEAA region. Working alongside our Global Director for Brand Safety Standards, and colleagues in the Americas and Greater China, you’ll influence the global fire strategy, support the implementation of risk-based fire safety controls and ensure consistent delivery of world-class fire safety that protects our guests, colleagues, and properties across diverse global markets.
What you’ll do:
Be the lead on fire safety for BRR across the region, ensuring it aligns with global frameworks while addressing local property market needs.
Partner with Safety & Security Directors and Hotel Operations leadership to embed practical, consistent fire safety decision-making across the hotel lifecycle – from new builds to refurbishments and conversions.
Act as a trusted business partner to cross-functional leaders, including Hotel Lifecycle & Growth, Operations, and Executive Leadership, bringing expert insight and pragmatic solutions.
Drive capability building by creating training programmes, tools, and resources that strengthen knowledge and accountability across hotel teams.
Lead assurance and compliance processes to monitor performance, verify standards, and proactively manage risk.
Provide expert guidance during incident investigations, ensuring robust responses and learnings to continuously improve fire safety outcomes.
Manage external consultants and partners, ensuring specialist services deliver value and align with IHG’s strategic objectives.
Contribute to business-critical projects, including due diligence on acquisitions and emerging risk reviews, embedding fire safety at the heart of business decisions.
What you’ll bring:
Degree-level qualification (or equivalent) in Fire Safety, Fire Engineering, or related discipline, with recognised professional fire safety certifications.
Demonstrable expertise in fire strategy within a global property or hospitality environment.
Strong track record of designing, implementing, and leading fire safety programmes in a multi-stakeholder, international business.
Deep knowledge of risk management, compliance, and assurance frameworks.
Proven ability to translate technical expertise into clear, actionable strategies for diverse audiences.
Exceptional communication, influencing, and business partnering skills, with the confidence to engage senior stakeholders and external experts.
Analytical mindset, able to use insights and data to shape decisions and drive continuous improvement.
At IHG Hotels & Resorts, we give you Room to Belong, Room to Grow, and Room to Make a Difference. You’ll join a global family united by our commitment to making every guest and colleague feel safe, secure, and valued – today and in the future.
