Testimonials

"Whilst studying at College, I visited InterContinental Hanoi Landmark 72 and participated in a career talk. After graduating, I applied for a 3 month Trainee position in their 3Spoons Restaurant. This was my first step in IHG as well as hospitality and I haven’t looked back! I was given the chance to cross-train within other departments to gain more experience, and in October, 2022, I was promoted to Restaurant Supervisor. I hope that my stories will inspire enthusiasm in other students, and young people seeking room to grow and room to belong."

NGUYEN THI NGOC | Restaurant Supervisor | Intercontinental Hanoi Landmark72 - Vietnam

"My name is Noah, I have autism and it’s not to be ashamed of. My mom was told that I would not work or drive. I’ve been working here for 5 years and I have been able to buy a car and drive. I had a great onboarding experience with the IHG Academy and have been succeeding at work ever since and recognized for the work I do, by receiving employee of the month."

Noah Duran | Starbucks Barista | InterContinental Miami, Miami, FL

“I completed a week’s work experience through the IHG Academy at the Holiday Inn Worth in Crawley and had an amazing experience. I was able to work in different areas of the hotel and was fascinated to see how the smallest details added to the guest experience and made them feel welcome. Setting up for afternoon tea was one of my personal favourites. It was interesting to see how beautifully it was set up and also the delicious cakes.”

Lauri Christophe - Travel & Tourism student

"From day one, I was working with Certified MasterChef’s. I was honoured to get a job offer following my final exams. Since then I have been able to gain experience in every department of the kitchen, cross train with other departments, and been given the chance to attend additional trainings (eg. ALDP, Leading Others). I have also had the chance to travel around Europe to work in other IHG hotels.

After my graduation, my school partnership strengthened with the hotel, and I am now able to help the next generations of apprentices settle into the the hotel quickly. I enjoy sharing my knowledge and experience to those following a similar path."

János Bányai | Sous Chef | Intercontinental Budapest

“I really recommend an IHG Academy Apprenticeship – I gained experience in many different departments and we were treated as professionals. Our team is always supportive and we have a “One Team” Spirit. I feel part of something special and empowered to do the very best for our guests”.
