Your day-to-day

  1. People

  • Direct/Manage everyday activity, plan and assign work ensuring you always have the right staffing numbers

  • Develop your team and improve their performance through coaching and feedback, and create performance and development goals for colleagues

  • Train colleagues to make sure they deliver with compliance and to the standards we expect

  • Drive a great working environment for teams to thrive - linking up departments to create sense of one team

  • Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other departments

  • Recommend or initiate any HR elated actions where needed

  • Develop and set revenue sales and marketing strategies for both domestic and international MICE segment to maximize performance, drive RGI, profitability and return on investment by directing all sales activity and total revenue generation for the MICE segment.

  • Ensure plans are implemented, results are monitored and sales goals through the regular sale of the resorts meeting rooms and food and beverage offerings. 

  • Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with corporate clients, DMC’s and international PCO’s.

  • Coordinate and plan VIP site inspections and represent the resort at key tradeshows.

  • Monitors competitors activities and assists in marketing intelligence

  • Refers sales leads to appropriate personnel within the InterContinental Hotels Group

  • Services existing business through management of account bases

  • Sell all facets of the hotel

  • Manage the corporate head office and the preferred hotel history for that company

  • Develop and maintain a regular pattern of sales calls, meeting with principals of target market

  • Provides direction on, and conducts market research and analysis

  • Develops and maintains contact with business generators, meeting and convention planners, visitors/convention bureau, travel agents, tour operators, airlines, corporate accounts, Government Departments and other producers closely allied to Hotel business

  • Builds profile within local market place through attendance at various events and local market place

  • Conduct client interviews

  • Entertain clients

  • Maintain regular contact with the IHG hotels in your region and the regional reservation office

  • Implement direction from Director of Sales and Marketing and Director of Sales

  1. Guest Experience

  • Focusing on all aspects from new business development, prospecting, pricing and conversion while working closely with the resorts operational team in developing memorable experiences for our guests.

  • Assesses sales and marketing data

  • Assists with the preparation of new products and services

  • Assists in the evaluation of sales and marketing activities

  • Liaison with advertising agency

  • Execute advertising/creative briefs in a timely manner

  1. Responsible Business 

  • Play an integral part in creating a positive and productive work environment; building, motivating and leading an effective team that is highly engaged and delivers results.

  • Plan and conduct familiarization tours and site inspections

  • Travel when required to promote the hotel and develop potential business

  • Monitors existing business and inputs into sales strategy meetings to maximize business

  • Grows existing business and establishes and pursues leads which will develop business

  • Interfaces with operations on a timely basis

  • Initiates and prepares tenders for business

  • Analyses sales mix and likely impact on hotel goals

  • Be responsible in keeping our property safe and secure, to participate in any hotel activity related to Fire Life safety.

  • Other ad-hoc duties – unexpected moments when we have to pull together to get a task done

  • May also serve as manager on duty (MOD) on request.

  • Help create the department’s annual budget and the setting of departmental goals

  • Monitor budget and control expenses with a focus on food, beverage, and labour costs….

  • Sells to new, existing and prospective customers considering goals set forth in the sales strategy, negotiating optimum rate for the benefit of the business
