WHAT’S THE JOB?
— The Director of Finance is an active member of the Executive Committee and is responsible for the financial, purchasing and data security functions of the hotel. The role acts as a resource for all departments, supporting education, forecast and budget process. The Director of Finance is the leader of the budget process and the delivery of monthly P and L and Owner financial reporting. All reports and procedures must be compiled in accordance with GAAP and Brand Standard measurements as GEM and CSM.

YOUR DAY-TO-DAY
— Making full use of tools available, the DOF is the key business support leader and accountable for the financial and data management of the hotel. This role actively works with management to educate and hold accountable each individual.
— Leads and Supports the budget process through use of historical information and market intelligence with the goal of producing an accurate and acceptable annual budget.
— Ensures full use of brand and GAAP practices to train and educate the team and to foster and motivate internal talent. Remains up to date with industry and brand practices.
— Ensures policies and procedures are in place to protect the hotel in the areas of purchasing, receiving, IT and data protection and all financial transaction management.
— Fully uses Brand Management Tools.
— With the GM and ExCom leads the capital planning process ensuring plan is completed accurately and submissions meet the guidelines around bidding, submission and are in accordance with the HMA and owner requirements.
— Maintains close and appropriate contact with Brand Finance and Owner Finance in accordance with established practices. Actively supports the monthly submission of reports for the brand and owner, including owner meetings.
— Ensures the purchasing department practices are in place leading to purchasing security, the best product for the best price and total integrity with the purchasing process.
— Works with the team to ensure Brand Culture and Forbes Five Star Standards are embraced and practiced.

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU
— Excellent communication and presentation skills. Create the most effective team to achieve the objectives. The ability to manage a large team through sound leadership practices.
— A minimum of 10 years professional work experience with at least 5 years at Director Level within an international luxury environment and within China.
— Degree level education Finance or associated Business Management area.
— Financial acumen to deliver accurate forecasts and budgeting in line with brand standards. Full knowledge of GAAP International Code of Accounts standards.
— A high level of English communication both written and oral.
