Ready to lead from the front? We’re looking for an Assistant Director of Rooms at Kimpton Tsim Sha Tsui Hong Kong to head up our front office, housekeeping and security departments. Setting the tone to deliver truly memorable guest experiences from first moment to last, maximizing guest satisfaction and optimizing room revenue.

A little taste of your day-to-day

Every day is different, but you’ll mostly be:

  • Overseeing the day-to-day operations of front office, housekeeping and security departments to ensure alignment with the hotel’s service standards and financial targets
  • Conducting daily walkthroughs and inspections in the hotel to ensure cleanliness, safety and adherence to brand standards
  • Managing room inventory and collaborating with Revenue Management to optimize occupancy and average daily rate strategically
  • Owning guest account, billing, and cash-handling accuracy and controls across the division
  • Serving as senior leader on duty – resolving complex guest issues and emergencies while driving satisfaction improvement
  • Supporting financial planning by managing rooms division budget, reviewing monthly P&L and enforcing cost controls
  • Recruiting, training and coaching teams, leading divisional meetings and ensuring emergency/crisis compliance
  • Ensuring safety, security and brand or health standards are followed, including equipment or supplies inventory and maintenance

What we need from you

  • A minimum of 4 years of management experience in rooms division operation in luxury or large-scale full-service hotel
  • A bachelor’s degree in hotel management or equivalent
  • Strong leadership, business acumen and guest focus
  • Outstanding organization and problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure
  • Always striving for service excellence, anticipatory, discreet and detail-oriented
  • Experienced in using Opera, Microsoft Office Suite and financial software
  • Excellent communication skills in both English and Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin) are essential, both spoken and written; knowledge of other languages is a plus
  • Work flexible shifts as needed (weekends, holidays and overnight)
