Job Summary:

The Beauty Ambassador is responsible for providing guests with comprehensive and professional product knowledge and make-up applications, reaching daily sales goal, and assisting the Spa close retail sales. Must have excellent communication skills, problem-solving skills and maintain a high level of customer service standards at all times. Scheduling, dependability, and flexibility are a must. Must maintain strong relationships with consistent follow-up techniques.

A little bit about your day:

Reporting to the Director of Spa, every day is different, but you will mostly:

  • Promote Regent’s service philosophy and style through our people attributes. 
  • Understand and adhere to Regent Spa policies and procedures.
  • Provide full-range customer service including product information, sales, and execution of all in-spa events.
  • Provide guests with a thorough and knowledgeable spa retail experience, including detailed descriptions of makeup services.
  • Provide consultation to customers for selection of cosmetic shades, skin treatment, makeup application, artistry, and fragrance.
  • Meet retail sales plan objectives and track productivity as determined by Spa Director.
  • Daily outreach to Clientele and tracking with understanding of retail goals set by Regent Spa.
  • Demonstrate professionalism and concern for guest needs, maintaining a tidy work area.
  • Conduct spa facility tours and cooperate with guests and coworkers.
  • Uphold guest service standards, including Forbes Five-Star Standards.
  • Assist in arranging vendor training and managing retail inventory.
  • Process retail transactions and spa reservations as needed.
  • Report maintenance issues to Spa Manager on Duty and ensure equipment is in good order.
  • Maintain safety, sanitation, and follow licensing regulations.
  • Complete all makeup services offered and make decisions according to established policies.
  • Check staff room bulletin boards and mailboxes for spa-related communications.
  • Attend all departmental, property training, and staff meetings, posted at least one week in advance and mandatory.
  • Interact professionally and sensitively with guests and colleagues.
  • Maintain dependability for schedule changes.
  • Ensure personal grooming and hygiene standards are met.

What We need from you:

  • Minimum 5 years of retail sales experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of upscale/luxury sales experience as a Makeup Artist, with consistent and reputable sales performance.
  • Must have current CA Cosmetology and/or Make-Up Artistry License.
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Knowledgeable in Makeup Artistry.
  • Able to stand for extended periods.
  • Polished, professional, with strong written and verbal English skills.
  • Organized, timely, and detail-oriented.
  • Flexible schedule including days, nights, holidays, and weekends.
  • Basic computer software skills.

What you can expect from us: 

The hourly pay rate for this role is $34.00, plus commission. This rate is only applicable for jobs to be performed at Regent Santa Monica Beach. This is the lowest to highest pay scale we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. A colleague’s pay position within the pay range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs.

Note: No amount of pay is considered to be wages or compensation until such amount is earned, vested, and determinable. The amount and availability of any bonus, commission, or any other form of compensation that are allocable to a particular employee remains in the Company's sole discretion unless and until paid and may be modified at the Company’s sole discretion, consistent with the law.
