Your Day-to-Day:
- Assist in the preparation and cooking of dishes according to hotel standards and recipes
- Ensure proper portioning, seasoning, and presentation of all food items
- Support plating and ensure dishes meet the hotel’s aesthetic standards
- Conduct regular tasting to ensure quality and consistency
- Adjust recipes or preparation methods as needed to maintain standards
- Maintain consistency in taste, texture, and visual presentation
- Coordinate daily with chefs, kitchen assistants, and stewards for smooth kitchen operations
- Assist in mentoring and training junior kitchen staff and apprentices
- Communicate effectively to ensure kitchen efficiency and timely service
- Participate in live cooking stations or special events
- Engage with guests and gather feedback when applicable
- Maintain accurate records of recipes, inventory, and production schedules
- Ensure adherence to all hygiene, sanitation, and safety regulations
- Follow HACCP guidelines and company policies
- Clean and sanitize workstations and equipment at the end of each shift
- Organize supplies and prepare for the next day’s operations
- Review feedback and adjust plans accordingly
Qualifications:
- Culinary Certificate or Diploma from a recognized culinary school or hospitality institute.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a professional kitchen, preferably in a hotel or fine dining environment.
