IHG is seeking a Director of Information Security Architecture & Engineering to lead the strategic vision, design, and execution of our enterprise security program. You'll set the direction for security architecture across the organization — from product design and deployment to future-state strategies and roadmaps — while serving as the go-to subject matter expert and partnering with senior leaders to protect and champion the trusted IHG brand.
What You'll Do
Architecture & Engineering Program Management
- Lead the enterprise-wide security architecture and engineering program, ensuring all technology assets are secure by design and protected by appropriate controls.
- Create, monitor, and enforce consistent security standards across intrusion detection systems, firewalls, vulnerability assessment tools, penetration testing, secure email, access control & identity management, network security, and more.
- Oversee the development and deployment of highly complex security projects, ensuring solutions meet technical requirements, timelines, and budgets.
Business Partnership & Stakeholder Engagement
- Build strong relationships with Global Technology leaders, business leaders, and process owners to foster confidence in IHG's security practices.
- Partner with business units to implement practices that align with IHG's defined security policies and standards.
Team Leadership
- Coach, develop, and inspire a high-performing, multi-disciplined security team — including hiring, training, performance management, and career development.
- Plan, organize, and lead functions within established schedules, budgets, and resource plans; contribute to department staffing and capital budget planning.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS/IT, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field — or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- 10+ years of progressive experience with demonstrated proficiency across multiple security disciplines, technologies, and processes.5+ years of leadership experience managing subordinate teams, including establishing organizational structure and allocating responsibilities.
- Deep expertise in Information Security Engineering, Risk Management, and Security Risk Management.
- Strong knowledge of Protective Security, Crisis Management, and Business Continuity principles.
- Understanding of regional political, economic, crime, and security risk landscapes. Proven ability to influence and persuade across all levels of the organization — from technical teams to the C-suite.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with a talent for translating complex technical concepts into clear, compelling narratives for diverse audiences. Strong executive presentation and escalation management capabilities.
- Demonstrated project management expertise in planning and executing large-scale initiatives from concept through delivery. A change agent mindset — you motivate teams, champion process improvement, and thrive in fast-paced, evolving environments.
- Analytical, results-focused, action-oriented, and deeply committed to outstanding customer satisfaction. Ability to learn quickly, think laterally under pressure, and manage shifting priorities with professionalism.
Travel - 10%
Location - Our hybrid work structure is an expectation of three (3) days a week in office. This expectation may be adjusted to evolve with the changing needs of the business.
The salary range for this role is $150,000 to $185,000. This role is also eligible for bonus pay. We offer a comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance, 401K, and other benefits to employees.
