Nestled in the heart of Brisbane’s CBD, InterContinental Hotel Brisbane will open to guests this winter, offering 319 spacious hotel rooms and suites, all day dining restaurant and lobby bar, outdoor pool, fitness centre and Club Lounge, all in a prime location above Queen Street Mall, perfect for exploring the city’s top attractions. With over 1800 square metres of meeting and events spaces, InterContinental Brisbane offers versatile function rooms and a Grand Ballroom catering for up to 1000 guests, making it a great choice for business and leisure events alike.
We’re searching for a Director of Sales with the strategic nous to help us beat our room night sales goals. Night after night. We’re looking for a commercial leader capable of hitting all personal and team sales goals, and has the ability to create sales plans that drive revenue as well as the analytical mind to review the hotel’s performance.
A little taste of your day-to-day
Every day is different, but as part of our team, you will:
- Managing daily sales activities and coaching your team to deliver to their full potential
- Hitting all personal and team sales goals to help us maximise profitability
- Creating and implementing sales plans that drive measurable incremental occupancy, increase average rates, increase volume, food and beverage and banquet sales
- Producing and reviewing monthly reports to monitor performance
- Developing and maintaining relationships with key clients and outside contacts.
What we need from you
- Proven experience as the lead sales role at a large complex hotel and luxury brand.
- Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to inspire and develop a dynamic team.
- Strong business acumen and commercially savvy, able to manage budgets effectively.
- Experience in setting sales targets, developing strategies and overseeing revenue management practices.
- Ability to work autonomously, be proactive and take accountability for workload and key deliverables.
- High level communication and relationship management skills, collaborating with a wide variety of stakeholders, both internal and external.
- Experience in Opera and Concerto preferred.
- Tertiary education within a Business, Sales or Hospitality related field.
- Fluent in the English language.
- Impeccable grooming standards and good personal hygiene.
- Full working rights in Australia without restrictions.
