Regarding the role, it’s as the job title says really, you will be out in Hotel. You are responsibility for the whole team that the guests will come to your area to have calm and relax experience, so it’s key that you know your stuff.

You will need to use your great communication skills and build strong relationships with the other teams to ensure our guests stay is seamless and effortless.

It’s a physical role and although there are the usual meetings and briefings, you will be on your feet most of the day out and about in the hotel chatting with your guests and your team, so fitness will be key for you, although reasonable adjustments will be made where we can. 

  • To understand and strictly adhere to the Rules & Regulations established in the Employees Handbook and the Hotel’s policy on Fire, Hygiene, Health and Safety.

  • To ensure that each section of the Engineering Division is managed efficiently, maximizing productivity and quality of work.

  • Gives personal attention, takes personal responsibility and uses teamwork when providing guest services.

  • Listens, apologies with empathy, finds a solution and follows through when resolving guest problems.

  • Assumes the responsibility to notice when the guest is not satisfied and uses best judgments as to when it is appropriate to use the 100% guest Satisfaction Guarantee.

  • Assist the Chief Engineer & Assistant Chief Engineer in the development of preventative maintenance plans.

  • Makes preventative maintenance schedules for all equipment in the mechanical plant as well as for that of other departments such as laundry, kitchen, swimming pool, etc.

  • Complete preventative maintenance schedules for equipment in the major plant including air conditioning units and fans, pumps, automatic control systems, etc.

  • Ensures that all equipment is operated effectively by directing and supervising the operation of all running equipment.

  •  Maintains routine reports by recording daily meter readings and interpreting daily log sheets.

  • Keeps Chief Engineer closely informed of anything that could indicate malfunctions.

  • Detects when plant or equipment needs repair, or when it is not economically justifiable to repair, by closely monitoring repair history of all major equipment.

  • Ensures that all applicable requirements are complied with by maintaining contact with local authorities such as fire brigade, electricity suppliers and the Health Department.

  • Improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the operation of the department and/or hotel whenever possible by making suggestions to the Chief Engineer & Assistant Chief Engineer.

  • Attends relevant training to remain current on proper techniques.

  • Maintains a safe and secure environment for customers and employees.

  • Ensures that all employees follow safety rules and emergency procedures.

  • Takes corrective action where required to improve safety of work area.

  • Utilizes leadership skills and motivation techniques on order to maximize employee productivity and satisfaction of direct service.

  • Selects, orientates and trains qualified employees.

  • Conduct effective employee meetings and counseling sessions.

  • Determines, communicates and monitors achievement of standards of performance on a timely basis.

  • Attends work on time and as scheduled.

  • Follows hotel grooming, hygiene and dress standards.

  • Minimize safety hazards by following all safety rules and procedures.

  • Keeps immediate manager promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance.

  • Performs all duties and responsibilities in a timely and efficient manner in accordance with established company policies and procedures to achieve the overall objectives of this position.

  • Maintains a favorable working relationship with all other company employees to foster and promote co-operative and harmonious working climate.

     

 

To assist the Duty Engineer in the effective implementation of the Engineering Policies and Procedures in the assigned Place of Work. Through hands-on management conduct and supervise day-to-day Repair and Maintenance and assigned projects required to keep the equipment, building and grounds in optimum condition.

You need to participate in the Hotel Energy and maintenance Committees to assist the Hotel operation in implementing stringent energy and maintenance procedures. Furthermore, you need to be a member of the Hotel Firefighting and Emergency Team. Last and not least, all plumbing, electrical & mechanical tasks together with guiding technicians will be under your scope of work.
