We are seeking an exceptional General Manager to lead the iconic InterContinental Amstel Amsterdam—a beacon of refined luxury and genuine hospitality since 1867. Nestled along the picturesque Amstel River, this historic hotel features 79 elegantly appointed rooms, a serene spa, and a tranquil indoor pool. As the property embarks on an exciting full renovation to further elevate the guest experience, we invite a visionary leader to guide this next chapter while honouring a rich heritage of excellence.
Your Day-to-Day:
Drive commercial excellence by identifying opportunities for revenue growth, optimising performance across all departments, and ensuring strong financial results.
Lead the full-scale renovation project, preserving the hotel’s heritage while elevating its design, functionality, and guest offerings to the highest luxury standards.
Empower and inspire a world-class team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous development.
Build and nurture strong relationships with guests, colleagues, owners, corporate partners, and the local community to strengthen the hotel’s reputation and influence.
Deliver exceptional guest experiences that reflect the hotel’s legacy of authentic hospitality, ensuring every stay is memorable and personalised.
What we need from you
We’re searching for a dynamic and visionary leader who thrives in a luxury environment and brings a balance of strategic thinking, operational excellence, and human connection. As we prepare for a transformative renovation, we need someone with the experience, drive, and passion to guide the InterContinental Amstel Amsterdam into its next era of excellence.
Proven experience in luxury hospitality as a commercially driven General Manager with a strong track record of delivering results in high-end environments.
Renovation and project management expertise, with the ability to lead complex, large-scale projects while maintaining operational excellence.
Fluency in Dutch and English, enabling you to effectively engage with guests, colleagues, and local stakeholders.
Exceptional leadership skills, with the ability to inspire, develop, and empower a high-performing team.
Strong relationship-building capabilities, able to connect and collaborate confidently at all levels—from frontline staff to owners and brand partners.
