Set within a beautifully restored 18th-century palace in the heart of Porto’s historic centre, the InterContinental Porto Palácio das Cardosas is a landmark of elegance, heritage, and world-class hospitality. Overlooking the iconic Avenida dos Aliados and steps from the city’s finest attractions, our hotel offers refined dining at Astoria Restaurant, a tranquil spa, state of the art fitness facilities, and timelessly designed guest rooms.
We are now seeking an exceptional General Manager, either an experienced GM or an ambitious first time GM ready to take the next step, who brings a strong luxury background and a deep understanding of the Portuguese market. This is an exciting opportunity to lead one of Porto’s most historic and prestigious hotels.
What We’re Looking For
- European language skills – Fluency in multiple European languages to engage effectively with international guests and partners. Portuguese proficiency is highly valued to navigate local market dynamics and build strong regional relationships.
- Proven leadership in luxury or lifestyle hospitality environments - A track record of leading high-performing teams within a luxury property, consistently delivering excellent guest experiences and operational excellence in demanding environments.
- Strong commercial acumen - ideally supported by a background in Sales & Marketing. Deep understanding of revenue strategy, market positioning, and business performance drivers.
- Natural leadership presence with the ability to inspire teams - An authentic, confident, and collaborative leader who motivates and empowers teams.
- Exceptional relationship-building skills - Skilled in navigating complex stakeholder dynamics, maintaining transparent communication, and building trusting relationships with owners, corporate partners, and local institutions to ensure long-term success.
