Your day-to-day
- As primary contact for servicing the computer hardware you’ll manage and monitor all computer hardware and make systems are installed properly and working efficiently
- Keep up to date with all approved systems and technology including
- Computer Hardware including Servers, PCs, printers and networking devices
- Software including operating system and applications
- Point of Sale Systems
- Maintain an up-to-date list of all computer hardware, software and AV equipment at hotel (Inventory)
- Monitor the performance of the systems and maintain logbook of performance
- Understand all standards and customized features and functions of PMS and POS systems
- Ensure that all computer media saves, and back-ups are completed, documented and stored per specifications
- Maintain uncompromising data and physical security standards
- Control security for server room and ensures that the server room fire protection, temperature control, and power requirements meet the security specification as described in the security system
- Administer all user ID’s, passwords, and the most sensitive system utilities, secures all touchy resources and critical libraries under the supervision of the IT Director/Leader
- Maintain technical and user documentation, systems report, detailed records of IT/AV equipment, network configurations and any technical issues or resolutions in a neat, orderly and secure fashion
- Follow-up outstanding points from the latest IT audit of his/her hotel under the supervision of IT Director/Leader
- Train employees to enable them to take responsibility during the absence of IT/AV colleagues
- Ensure all hotel routine maintenance for IT & AV equipment comply with policies and standard
- Ensure all hotel policies and information security comply with standards
- Investigate and report system issues to the vendor or to the support centre
- Ensure viable solutions are adapted and used for hotel disaster recovery plan and business continuity
- Recommend suitable Software/Hardware vendors for the hotel IT purchases
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure all IT related items meets the various Audit requirements
- Ensure all hotels IT Systems are under appropriate maintenance contract and have routine heath check and repair schedule
- Evaluate and assess life cycle of all technology related solutions and assets and provide adequate advice to refresh the hardware/software.
- Ensure all necessary settings are properly configured on the computing and AV systems
- Take preventive measures to foresee, identify and analyse the potential system performance issues
- Ensure all cabling, network diagrams and SOPs’ are up-to-date
- Leading or participating in IT projects, such as system upgrades, new software implementations, or network expansions, to improve the hotel's technological capabilities.
- AV equipment setting up, operating and maintaining audio visual equipment for events, conferences and meeting. This includes projectors, sound systems, microphones and video conferencing tools.
- Operate equipment including microphones, mixers, speakers, projectors, LED screens, video conferencing systems, cameras, and lighting controls.
- Coordinate with event planners, banquet teams, and clients to understand AV needs and ensure smooth execution.
- Provide technical support during live events, including troubleshooting sound, video, or lighting issues on the spot.
- Ensure all AV equipment is in good working condition through regular maintenance, testing, and cleaning.
Accountabilities
This job performs professional accounting duties for a large full-service hotel or a cluster of hotels. This is the middle level professional position in the hotel accounting series.
What we need from you
- Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Computer Science or IT related field
- Two to Three years’ prior tenure in a similar role in luxury hotels
- Working knowledge of networking, CCTV and PABX
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficient in using AV systems such as mixers, amplifiers, wireless microphones, video switchers, projectors, LED panels, and lighting consoles
- Knowledge of network-based BGM system such as Bose ControlSpace is a plus
- Great communication and interpersonal skills
- A team player, proactive, responsible, ability to work under pressure and tight timelines
