Job Summary:
As an In-Room Dining Cashier at Regent Santa Monica Beach, you will be a vital part of creating memorable experiences for our guests. With a focus on precision, efficiency, and exceptional service, you will expertly process guest orders with accuracy, manage payments to ensure a smooth and personalized service from start to finish. We are seeking a detail-oriented, service-driven professional who thrives in a fast-paced hospitality environment and is committed to delivering excellence with every guest interaction.
A little bit about your day:
Reporting to the In-Room Dining Manager, every day is different, but you’ll mostly:
- Promote Regent’s service philosophy and style through our people attributes.
- Maintain impeccable personal grooming standards to uphold the professional and property style of the resort.
- Process guest orders accurately and efficiently, ensuring all room service charges are properly recorded.
- Handle cash, credit card transactions, and ensure proper change is given when required.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of in-room dining menus, specials, and promotions to assist guests effectively.
- Communicate with the kitchen and in-room dining team to ensure timely and accurate order preparation and delivery.
- Ensure all guest orders are charged correctly and handle billing inquiries or disputes professionally.
- Provide excellent customer service by greeting guests, answering questions, and fulfilling special requests in a friendly and efficient manner.
- Assist servers with setting up tables according to resort standards, ensuring proper presentation and layout.
- Ensure that all room service deliveries are presented neatly and professionally.
- Coordinate Amenity Deliveries. Organize and manage the delivery of amenities to guest rooms, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Keep Log of Orders and Amenities. Maintain detailed records of all in-room dining orders and amenity deliveries to ensure accuracy and accountability
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the cashier station and work area.
- Process payment transactions securely and maintain accurate records of transactions.
- Assist in the preparation and stocking of items needed for the in-room dining operation.
- Assist with breaking down tables and clearing dishes when business demands dictate.
- Adhere to all resort policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
- Handle guest complaints or concerns calmly and professionally, ensuring guest satisfaction.
What we need from you:
- Minimum 2 years’ experience working in a similar role, within a luxury hotel is highly preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent required. Additional education or certifications in hospitality is a plus.
- Must have current Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) and Food Handlers certifications.
- Candidate must have a minimum of 2 years previous experience working in a luxury hotel.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to interact with guests in a positive and professional manner.
- Basic math skills and attention to detail for handling cash and processing transactions.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively.
- Must be reliable, punctual, and demonstrate excellent time management skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Basic knowledge of hotel property management systems (PMS) and point-of-sale (POS) systems is preferred.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and the ability to work well under pressure.
- Flexible schedule, able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds occasionally.
What you can expect from us:
The hourly pay range for this role is $25.72 to $32.15. This range is only applicable for jobs to be performed at Regent Santa Monica Beach. This is the lowest to highest pay scale we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee’s pay position within the pay range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs.
