Under the general direction of the Guest Relations Manager or her delegate and within the limits of established InterContinental Hotels Group brand and local policies and procedures, responsible for welcoming and greeting the guests in the lobby and escorting.
Your day-to-day
- Be familiar with all room type and configuration, review house count periodically, to be aware of every opportunity in order to maximize room revenue.
- Remains aware of the Hotel’s Rooms' Budget [Occupancy, Average Room Rate ADR and Revenue per available room RevPAR] versus performance.
- Be updated with all F&B activities, cuisines, and entertainment opening hours.
- Upsell and promote all hotel facilities.
- To have full working knowledge of the IHGRC program and its benefits, and taking every opportunity to enrol new members.
- To have full working knowledge of the Ambassador Program with its levels and benefits, and taking the opportunity to enrol new members, and maintain high level of VIP recognition for them.
- Attend meeting or training sessions when requested.
- Perform any job related task assigned by the management.
- Maintain positive employee relations
- Welcoming guest upon their arrival to the Hotel either to check in or for an event or visiting the outlets.
- Escorting the guest to their rooms, checked in by reception.
- Answering guest queries related to IHGRC, IHG Dining Rewards and Ambassador Program.
- Performing show rooms.
- Obtaining copy of passports / IDs for Airport check in guests upon their arrival.
- Escorting Airport checked in guests to their rooms.
- Inspecting the Lobby area cleanliness.
- Promote F&B outlets and to be aware of all the promotions.
- Aware of all events taking place in the hotel.
- Make sure that the house music is always on, and report whenever is not.
- Ensure that the Lobby flowers are set up properly
- Directing guests to the outlets or meeting rooms, when requested.
- Report and log irregular things happening at the lobby in the log book.
- Being familiar by VIP arrivals.
- Performing in Room check in, whenever requested.
- Make sure that the Hotel entrance is always free of luggage, and direct the Bell Captain to keep the luggage at the store, and informing the Chief Concierge of any deficiency.
- Ensure that the Lobby screens and elevators are working and report any deficiencies to the Assistant Manager.
- Entertain guest waiting for their Rooms to be ready.
- Obtain guest feedback when asked by the management.
- Promoting all rooms’ facilities during escorting.
- Update the guest profile with any guest request
- Advises all guests of their room numbers and rate confidentially on welcome booklets.
- Maintains intimate knowledge of departmental standards and procedures.
- Maintains control of issuing the guest room keys, according to the security measurements required.
- Maintain confidence for Guests’ profiles and room numbers as well as billing instructions.
- Is familiar with other InterContinental Hotels and Resorts so that guest indicating any next destination on the registration card can be “sold” an onward booking to another InterContinental Hotels.
- Reports irregular things happening at the lobby to the Assistant Manager.
- Demonstrate awareness and adhere to the occupational, health and safety legislation, policies and procedures.
- Be familiar with the Hotel safety, first aid, fire and emergency procedures and operating equipment safely and responsibly.
- Report security incidents and accidents in accordance with the Hotel requirements.
