Maintenance Manager

About the role

We are seeking a Maintenance Manager to join our team at the Holiday Inn Queenstown Remarkables Park, located in Frankton, Queenstown.

As Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all maintenance and upkeep of our hotel property, ensuring it remains in pristine condition to deliver an exceptional experience for our guests.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Responding promptly to daily maintenance needs
• Carrying out a preventative maintenance programme that ensures a safe, secure, and comfortable environment for guests and staff
• Leading and developing a small team of maintenance assistants and managing external contractors when needed
• Troubleshooting and resolving maintenance issues to maintain our hotel’s high standards of safety, functionality, and presentation
• Ensuring compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations
• Overseeing budgets, energy management, and capital planning to keep the hotel in top shape. 
• Overseeing and delivering hotel projects, negotiating contracts, and ensuring timely and cost-effective completion
• Providing technical support and maintenance advice to hotel teams
• Contributing to continuous improvement of hotel operations through strategic planning and innovation
• Additionally, you may need to provide after-hours support when required.

What We’re Looking For

• A dependable team player with a hands-on approach and a positive attitude
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate with various stakeholders
• Calm and solutions-focused, even under pressure
• Physically able to carry out manual tasks (up to 15kg)
• Prior experience in general building or property maintenance (hotel experience is a plus, but not required)
• A relevant trade qualification is beneficial, but not essential
• Comfortable working with a range of technologies and systems
