The Marketing Specialist plays a vital role in supporting the Sales & Marketing team in executing brand-aligned communications, digital engagement, and promotional activations. This entry-level position provides a dynamic opportunity to contribute to hotel-wide marketing initiatives, food & beverage programming, internal communications, and guest experience campaigns. The ideal candidate thrives in a collaborative environment and has a passion for storytelling, social media, and elevating the hotel’s presence in the local and digital community.
Duties and Responsibilities
Marketing & Campaign Development
- Contribute to the creative process for campaigns — from concept development and copywriting to final asset delivery — across print collateral, signage, email, and social platforms.
- Creativity for building offers and activations, along with developing signage in the hotel and digital promotions for Social Media/PR and websites.
- Contribute to brand evolution by proposing new ideas for guest experience enhancements, visual storytelling, and innovative activations.
Digital & Social Media
- Manage content calendars for all channels, ensuring timely promotion of stay offers, F&B activations, seasonal events, and PR initiatives.
- Keep up to date with Social Media trends and engagement to better understand and reach our desired audiences. Review social dashboard and make suggestions on how to increase outreach.
- Familiarity with digital marketing platforms, such as Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, Canva, Hotel Websites, etc.
Data & Reporting
- Analyze digital performance data (social, website traffic, email metrics) to provide actionable insights and recommendations in monthly marketing reports to the Director of Marketing.
Public Relations & Partnerships
- Build and maintain media and influencer relationships; coordinate hosted stays, content partnerships, and press opportunities to boost hotel exposure.
- Internal and external communication for Social Media, F&B Marketing and PR Support.
Creative Production & Brand Management
- Manage photo/video shoots and creative production days, including shot lists, coordination, and usage strategy.
- Brand Identity/Collateral Inventory Management for re-ordering and new orders (processing invoices, updating Excel, etc.), along with being a Brand Ambassador to ensure hotel and colleagues are following brand guidelines.
Website & Content Management
- Manage IHG website updates for ongoing offers, revised hours, The Parlour (Restaurant and Bar) activations, holiday pages, calendar of events, digital concierge, etc.
Internal Culture & Events
- Support the team in promoting the hotel's culture and creating/executing on-property colleague events/activations.
Communication & Collaboration
- Communication skills are utilized a significant amount of time when interacting with others; proven ability to interact with guests, employees, and third parties that reflects highly on the hotel, the brand, and the Company.
- May be required to work weekends and/or holidays – with advance notice.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with Canva and digital marketing tools (e.g., Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Highly organized with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
- Flexible schedule availability, including occasional weekends and holidays.
