Meeting & Events Sales Manager

 


Position Summary

The Meeting & Events Sales Manager is responsible for driving revenue through proactive business development, securing new accounts, and maximizing sales across meetings, conferences, outside catering (off‑site events), and social events including weddings. This role requires a strategic hunter mindset, strong relationship‑building skills, and the ability to convert leads into high‑value business for the hotel.


Key Responsibilities

1. Business Development & New Account Acquisition

  • Proactively identify, research, and pursue new business opportunities across corporate, government, and social segments.
  • Develop a robust pipeline of new accounts to meet and exceed revenue targets.
  • Conduct regular sales calls, site inspections, and client meetings to generate leads.
  • Build strategic partnerships with event planners, local businesses, wedding organizers, and community organizations.
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activity to uncover new sales opportunities.

2. Meeting & Events Sales

  • Handle all incoming meeting and event leads with professionalism and speed to maximize conversion.
  • Prepare and present customized proposals, quotations, and contracts in line with hotel standards.
  • Work cross‑functionally with operations, banquet, and culinary teams to ensure seamless event planning and execution.
  • Maintain detailed event files, BEOs, and communication logs to ensure accuracy and client satisfaction.
  • Conduct post‑event follow‑ups to ensure client satisfaction and generate repeat business.

3. Outside Catering Development

  • Lead the development, promotion, and growth of the hotel’s outside catering business.
  • Identify and engage potential venues, communities, corporates, and private clients requiring off‑site catering services.
  • Collaborate with culinary and operations teams to design creative, competitive catering packages.

4. Wedding & Social Events Sales

  • Serve as the main point of contact for prospective wedding and social event clients.
  • Develop attractive wedding packages and promotional strategies to enhance market competitiveness.
  • Conduct personalized wedding consultations and venue tours, offering professional guidance and recommendations.
  • Build strong relationships with wedding planners, decorators, and vendors.

5. Account Management & Client Relationships

  • Maintain strong relationships with existing accounts to drive repeat business.
  • Manage key accounts through regular communication, reviews, and tailored solutions.
  • Ensure the highest level of guest satisfaction throughout the sales, planning, and execution phases.

6. Administration & Reporting

  • Prepare weekly and monthly sales reports, forecasts, and activity logs.
  • Maintain an up‑to‑date CRM/database with accurate client information and sales activities.
  • Actively participate in sales meetings, business review sessions, and promotional activities.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Hospitality, Marketing, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 3–5 years experience in hotel sales, events, catering, or wedding planning.
  • Proven track record in business development and revenue generation.
  • Strong knowledge of the local market and hospitality industry trends.
  • Experience with CRM systems (Opera, Delphi, or similar).
