At InterContinental Abu Dhabi, our guests expect flawless service—and that includes a property that’s perfectly maintained. We are looking for a dependable and hands-on Multi-Skilled Technician to join our Engineering Team, someone who brings a broad skill set to keep our facilities safe, operational, and guest-ready at all times.
As a Multi-Skilled Technician, you will carry out a wide range of preventive and reactive maintenance tasks related to electrical, plumbing, mechanical, HVAC, and general building upkeep. You’ll work across departments, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations and timely response to maintenance requests throughout the hotel.
A little taste of your day-to-day:
Every day is different, but you’ll mostly do:
- Perform maintenance and repairs in multiple trades including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general carpentry/finishing.
- Carry out preventive maintenance schedules on guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house facilities.
- Respond to daily work orders, ensuring timely resolution of reported issues.
- Conduct routine inspections to identify and rectify potential problems before they escalate.
- Ensure tools, equipment, and spare parts are properly handled and accounted for.
- Maintain logs, inspection records, and documentation in accordance with hotel and safety policies.
- Assist in emergency situations such as power failures, leaks, or equipment breakdowns.
- Collaborate with other technicians and departments to ensure all maintenance tasks are completed efficiently.
What we need from you:
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in a similar multi-trade role, preferably in a hotel or commercial building.
- Vocational training or certification in at least two technical areas (e.g., electrical, HVAC, plumbing, mechanical).
- Sound knowledge of building systems and troubleshooting techniques.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
- Good communication skills and customer service approach when dealing with guests or other departments.
- Physically fit and comfortable working with tools, ladders, confined spaces, and at heights.
- Flexible to work rotating shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
