Position Summary

The Night Auditor is responsible for overseeing overnight hotel operations while providing exceptional service to guests. This position combines front desk responsibilities with daily financial reconciliation, ensuring accurate hotel accounting, a smooth overnight operation, and a welcoming experience for guests at the InterContinental Buckhead Atlanta.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Welcome and assist guests during the overnight hours with professionalism and genuine hospitality.
  • Complete guest check-ins, check-outs, room changes, payments, and other Front Office transactions.
  • Perform the daily night audit and reconcile hotel revenue, transactions, and financial records.
  • Review and balance room charges, payments, deposits, and other guest accounts.
  • Prepare and distribute daily financial and operational reports.
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies in guest accounts and hotel revenue.
  • Monitor hotel activity throughout the overnight shift and communicate important information to management.
  • Respond promptly to guest requests, questions, and concerns while maintaining a high level of service.
  • Handle guest complaints professionally and escalate issues to the appropriate manager when necessary.
  • Process late arrivals, reservations, cancellations, and no-shows according to hotel procedures.
  • Monitor hotel security and report unusual or suspicious activity to the appropriate department.
  • Maintain accurate records and complete all required Front Office and Night Audit documentation.
  • Coordinate with Housekeeping, Security, Engineering, and other departments regarding overnight operational needs.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional Front Desk and lobby area.
  • Protect guest privacy and confidential hotel and financial information.
  • Follow all IHG, hotel, safety, security, cash-handling, and accounting policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Guest Service Expectations

  • Deliver personalized service consistent with InterContinental Hotels & Resorts standards.
  • Create a welcoming and secure environment for guests arriving and staying overnight.
  • Anticipate guest needs and respond with urgency, professionalism, and care.
  • Demonstrate strong communication, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Represent the InterContinental Buckhead Atlanta brand with professionalism at all times.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous Front Desk, Night Audit, hotel, or hospitality experience preferred.
  • Previous experience with hotel property management systems is a plus.
  • Strong mathematical and cash-handling skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be comfortable working overnight hours.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to sit, bend, reach, and lift as required to perform job duties.
  • Ability to work independently during overnight hours.
  • Ability to remain alert and attentive throughout the shift.

Schedule

 The regular schedule is 11:00 PM–7:30 AM. The successful candidate must be available to work overnight shifts, including weekends and holidays. Flexibility is required based on hotel business needs.
