InterContinental Los Angeles Downtown is located in the Wilshire Grand building, standing 73 stories tall in the core of Downtown’s historic, entertainment, financial, arts, and sports districts. Your Day to Day

PEOPLE

  • Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other departments.     

GUEST EXPERIENCE

  • Determine and maintain hotel inventory levels as specified; complete timely and accurate month-end inventories.  Maintain cleanliness and organization in all work areas and storerooms.

RESPONSIBLE BUSINESS

  • Handle receiving of deliveries and ensure that goods received are in compliance with purchase orders in terms of the items, quality, quantity, price and specifications.

  • Maintain records of all partial deliveries and backorders.  Ensure that proper notations are made concerning short-shipped items

  • Ensure storeroom areas are kept clean, well-organized, secure to prevent pilferage, and safe to minimize damage and spoilage.

  • Based on Birchstreet requisitions from various departments, issue items requested in accordance with predetermined timetables.

  • Ensure that all documentation for goods received, issued and transferred is accurate and complete and is promptly passed on to the accounting department for processing.

  • Work with all department heads and managers to provide information (i.e., status of goods requested, etc.) to assist in their departments.

  • Strive to improve the quality of the company's product while minimizing costs in all areas.

  • Other duties may be assigned.

 

What We Need From You
High school diploma or equivalent and one year experience in Purchasing Department or relevant field of work, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.  Must speak fluent English. Other languages preferred. 

This job requires ability to perform the following:

  • Frequently standing up or moving around the facility
  • Carrying or lifting items weighing up to 100 pounds
  • Handling objects and boxes
  • Stooping, kneeling, and reaching

Other:

  • Communication skills are utilized a significant amount of time when interacting with clients, guests and employees. 
  • Reading and writing abilities are utilized often.
  • Basic math skills are used frequently.
  • May be required to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays.

What We Offer

The hourly pay range for this role is $26.10 to $32.63. This range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in at the InterContinental Los Angeles Downtown Hotel. This is the lowest to highest pay scale we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee’s pay position within the pay range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, and business or organizational needs.
