Co-project manage, along with Design Review Manager, an assigned territory of franchised Property Improvement Plan (PIP) renovation projects. Serve as recognized architectural, design and construction expert for a segment of Premium IHG brand hotels.
Responsibilities include managing all on-site PIP renovation design and construction activities to ensure compliance or non-compliance with franchise License Agreement, including conformance with any associated PIP, Plan Review and FF&E submittals, and brand standards, including life safety and ADA requirements. Provide design, construction expertise and assistance to IHG franchisees and their assigned design team members through all phases of their PIP projects, including working out design / construction solutions as project field conditions arise, thus ensuring timely and successful completion of projects while promoting Great Hotels Guests Love.
Your day to day
- Property Improvement Plan (PIP) renovation projects – Conduct PIP assessments for hotels seeking IHG licensing or relicensing, develop renovation requirements, lead design and scope meetings with ownership, and oversee renovation execution to ensure compliance with brand standards, life safety requirements, and building codes.
- Work with Development and ownership teams to optimize renovation scope, design, and timelines for successful franchise approval and licensing of new-build and PIP conversion projects.
- Oversee PIP compliance, waiver requests, and project timelines, partnering with owners to facilitate successful and timely completion of renovation requirements.
- Partner with franchisees, owners, and design professionals to develop PIP renovation schedules and review plans for compliance with brand standards, regulations, and applicable codes.
- Manage PIP project progress, reporting, and Salesforce project tracking across an assigned territory.
- Owner Relations – Foster strong owner relationships by providing design, construction, and PIP consulting to support successful project outcomes.
What we need from you
- Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Design, Construction Management, or a relevant field of work, or an equivalent combination of education and work related experience. AIA or ASID certifications preferred. CAD training and familiarity with CAD systems also preferred.
- 8+ years progressive work-related experience in design and/or architecture, with demonstrated technical proficiency related to the position. Previous experience in the hotel industry or similar desired. Project Management skills.
- Demonstrate project management experience in organizing, planning and executing complex, large-scale projects from conception through implementation.
- Manage multiple hotel renovation, conversion, and new development projects, ensuring timely plan submissions and providing responsive support to franchise owners.
- Effectively communicate project requirements, plan review feedback, and brand standards to owners, consultants, and project teams.
- Strong knowledge of hotel brand standards, ADA requirements, and life safety regulations
- Demonstrate ability to read blueprints including architectural, mechanical, plumbing, sprinkler systems and electrical drawings and knowledge of national building codes and Life Safety codes.
- Must be capable of writing and typing a comprehensive, technical renovation document (within a specific template) describing the required PIP scope of work that will become part of a franchisee’s License Agreement.
- Demonstrate ability to remain current with construction trends, code requirements and design through participating in annual continuing education classes.
Travel – 75% [US, Canada and Caribbean] – Must have or be able to obtain a US Passport
Location – Remote: **Preference is for candidate to reside in the Midwest US – Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Ohio, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Michigan, Missouri; Candidate must reside within 1 hour proximity to a major US airport**
The salary range for this role is $94,000.00 to $104,000.00. This role is also eligible for bonus pay (as applicable). We offer a comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance, 401K, and other benefits to employees.
