Job Summary:

The Resort Venues Jr. Sales Manager is a dynamic, sales-driven individual responsible for maximizing event and private dining revenue for Orla Santa Monica and Guerlain Wellness Spa at Regent Santa Monica Beach. This role involves selling private event spaces, securing large-party bookings, coordinating spa group sales, optimizing reservations, and driving local outreach and promotional efforts. The ideal candidate will support revenue growth through strategic planning, proactive sales efforts, and exceptional guest service.

A little bit about your day:

Reporting to the Director of Meeting and Events, with a dotted line to Restaurant General Manager, and Director of Spa, every day is different, but you’ll mostly:

Spa Responsibilities

  • Act as Primary Contact for Group Spa Bookings.
  • Develop and execute strategies to grow spa group sales. 
  • Maintain spa group coordination tools.
  • Collaborate with the Spa Director to plan and execute group wellness packages.
  • Oversee facility booking for spa group events to maximize revenue and space efficiency.
  • Provide guests with tours of spa facilities and represent the spa during meetings, site visits, and industry events.
  • Conduct follow-ups for spa group events to ensure client satisfaction.
  • Stay current on wellness trends to enhance spa offerings.
  • Ensure spa operations meet government-mandated health, sanitation, and safety standards.

Restaurant Responsibilities

  • Act as primary contact for large party and private event inquiries, event sales, coordination and execution.
  • Develop and execute strategies to grow private events and large-party bookings. 
  • Maintain event menus and marketing platforms like TripleSeat and OpenTable.
  • Collaborate with the Restaurant Management Team to plan and execute seamless private events.
  • Provide guests with tours of restaurant facilities and represent the restaurant during meetings, site visits, and industry events.
  • Conduct follow-ups for restaurant events to ensure client satisfaction.
  • Stay current on food and beverage trends to enhance restaurant offerings.
  • Ensure restaurant operations meet government-mandated health, sanitation, and safety standards.

Shared Responsibilities (Spa & Restaurant)

  • Promote Regent’s service philosophy and style through people attributes.
  • Maintain impeccable personal grooming standards to uphold the resort's style.
  • Support sales calls, on-property events, and creative promotions during need periods.
  • Secure bookings and ensure events align with financial and operational objectives.
  • Assist in evaluating pricing strategies for both private events and spa groups.
  • Anticipate guest needs and adhere to Regent standards, including FORBES 5 Star Standards.
  • Address guest concerns, comments, or complaints with discretion and urgency.
  • Cultivate relationships with community organizations, third-party agencies, and neighboring businesses to drive bookings.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in hospitality, event sales, or spa group coordination, with a record of professional growth.
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • Strong sales and marketing knowledge, including pricing strategies and market segmentation, preferred.
  • Proficiency in sales platforms (e.g., TripleSeat), spa software (e.g., Book4Time, SpaSoft), POS systems, and Microsoft Office Suite, preferred.
  • Exceptional communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to adapt to feedback and collaborate effectively across departments.
  • Highly organized, punctual, and detail-oriented.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative with minimal supervision.
  • Physical ability to support event setup and maneuver equipment weighing up to 50 pounds, as needed.
  • Ability to stand, stoop, and bend repetitively.
  • Flexibility to work during evenings, weekends, and holidays as per business demands.

What you can expect from us: 

The hourly pay rate for this role is $38.46. This position participates in an incentive plan. This range is only applicable for jobs to be performed at Regent Santa Monica Beach. This is the lowest to highest pay scale we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. A colleague’s pay position within the pay range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs.

Note: No amount of pay is considered to be wages or compensation until such amount is earned, vested, and determinable. The amount and availability of any bonus, commission, or any other form of compensation that are allocable to a particular employee remains in the Company's sole discretion unless and until paid and may be modified at the Company’s sole discretion, consistent with the law.
