Join Vistal Restaurant, located within the luxurious IHG Hotel, and play a key role in delivering an exceptional dining experience for our guests. As a three-meal period restaurant with a strong focus on seafood, Vistal offers a menu inspired by the finest fresh catches and seasonal ingredients, blending bold flavors and sophisticated culinary techniques.


The Restaurant Manager will be responsible for leading all aspects of restaurant operations while maintaining the highest standards of service and guest satisfaction. You will model and demonstrate leadership grounded in the core values of IHG, ensuring the seamless delivery of exceptional dining experiences. Your success will be measured by your ability to drive sales, control costs, and create a positive atmosphere for both guests and team members.

Duties
•    Supervise daily restaurant operations and lead the staff, ensuring smooth and efficient service.
•    Manage and train staff, fostering a positive work environment that encourages teamwork and collaboration.
•    Oversee customer service efforts, addressing any guest concerns or complaints promptly and professionally.
•    Cultivate a culture of guest-focused hospitality, reinforcing our Guest focused service style, welcoming new guests and building on relationships with our regulars
•    Handle cash management, including cash handling procedures and financial reporting.
•    Coordinate kitchen management activities to ensure food quality and safety standards are met.
•    Plan and execute catering events as needed, ensuring all details are managed effectively.
•    Conduct interviews and assist in the process of hiring, developing and discipline.
•    Train and supervise dining staff, as well as create shift schedules
•    Maintain inventory control, ordering supplies as necessary to meet operational needs.
•    Passionate hands-on service with a lead by example management style to create a collaborative work environment for all employees.
•    Implement marketing strategies to promote the restaurant and attract new customers.
Experience
•    Proven experience in a supervisory role within the restaurant or hospitality industry is preferred.
•    Strong background in customer service with the ability to handle challenging situations gracefully.
•    Experience in team management, demonstrating effective leadership skills.
•    Familiarity with casual dining environments is advantageous; experience in hotel settings is a plus.
•    Knowledge of cash handling processes and financial management within a restaurant context.
•    Previous experience bartending is beneficial but not required.
•    Ability to manage catering events effectively, ensuring high levels of guest satisfaction.
•    Ability to analyze and solve problems; efficiently handle multiple duties under pressure with minimal supervision

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

High school diploma or equivalent and at least 3-4 years restaurant management experience in a full-service outlet or similar setting.  Hospitality Management Degree or some college preferred.

This job requires ability to perform the following:

  • Carrying or lifting items weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Wine/Beverage Knowledge 
  • Moving about the outlet(s)
  • Handling objects, products
  • Bending, stooping, kneeling

Other:

  • Communication skills are utilized a significant amount of time when interacting with others; demonstrated ability to interact with customers, employees and third parties that reflects highly on the hotel, the brand and the Company.
  • Reading and writing abilities are utilized often when completing paperwork, ordering, interpreting results, and giving and receiving instructions. 
  • Must be proficient at Word, Excel
  • Mathematical skills, including basic math, budgeting, profit/loss concepts, percentages, and variances are utilized frequently.
  • Problem solving, reasoning, motivating, organizational and training abilities are used often.
  • Alcohol awareness certification and/or food service permit or valid health/food handler card as required by local or state government agency.
  • May be required to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays.
