Role Purpose

We are looking Sr Analyst in Cash application process who is responsible for accurately and timely applying incoming payments to customer accounts. This role ensures proper reconciliation of accounts, resolves payment discrepancies, and supports cash flow accuracy. The analyst also collaborates with internal teams to reduce unapplied cash and improve overall accounts receivable efficiency.

Key Accountabilities

  • Accurately apply incoming payments (checks, wires, ACH, lockbox) to customer accounts as per remittance advice.
  • Research and resolve unapplied or misapplied payments 
  • Work closely with collections, billing, and bank reconciliation teams to address discrepancies and open items.
  • Prepare and analyze daily, weekly, and monthly reports related to cash application, unapplied cash, and exceptions.
  • Identify trends in recurring issues and work proactively to resolve root causes.
  • Ensure adherence to internal controls, SOX compliance, and company policies in all cash application processes.
  • Maintain updated process documentation, including SOPs and cheat sheets.
  • Support internal and external audit requirements by providing accurate and timely documentation.
  • Assist in identifying opportunities for automation and process efficiency.
  • Participate in system testing, UATs, or implementation of enhancements as needed.
  • Support onboarding and training of new team members and provide guidance on complex cases.

Key Skills & Experiences

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in a relevant field of work or an equivalent combination of education and 1-2 Years work-related experience.

Technical Skills and Knowledge

  • Accounting Knowledge: Good Knowledge of Accounting Principles and concepts and the ability to apply them to the company's Accounting practices.
  • System Knowledge: Good knowledge of the relevant IHG systems like People soft, Essbase etc.

Other Skills

Communication - Possess good communication skills.

Flexibility - Flexible to work in multiple shifts

Ability to work in cross functional team
