JOB OVERVIEW

The Sales Executive is primarily responsible for supporting the Sales Team on day-day operations and administration. Additionally, this role handle group bookings (reactive sales). This opportunity will be a stepping stone towards a rewarding sales career in the hotel industry.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

FINANCIAL RETURNS

  1. Administrative support to proactive Sales Team - integral collaborative effort to meet hotel’s financial goals
  2. Handling of group enquiries with guidance from senior colleagues in Sales & Revenue
  3. Close liaison with reservations and front of house team to deliver Great group stay experience
  4. Promote Holiday Inn products and services using and suggestive selling techniques
  5. Support and execute action plans to increase sales and associated business


PEOPLE

  1. Liaise with Asst. / Director of Sales and Finance Lead for all reservations requiring credit approval
  2. Attend meetings and training sessions as required
  3. Attend sales related events as required & facilitation of site inspection for any walk-in (Sales)


GUEST EXPERIENCE

  1. Promote IHG & Hotel’s products and services
  2. Maintain a high-level of product and service knowledge about IHG Hotels in our region
  3. Support and facilitate reservations via Reservations Team
  4. Maintain knowledge of special rates/ offers/ promotions


RESPONSIBLE BUSINESS

  1. Demonstrate Awareness of OH&S policies and procedures and ensure all procedures are conducted safely and within OH&S guidelines
  2. Be aware of duty of care and adhere to occupational, health and safety legislation, policies and procedures
  3. Be familiar with property safety, first aid and fire and emergency procedures and operate equipment safely and sensibly
  4. Initiate action to correct a hazardous situation and notify supervisors of potential dangers
  5. Log security incidents and accidents in accordance with hotel requirements


ACCOUNTABILITY

  1. Ensure all group quotations are properly recorded in our GRC tracker
  2. Ensure all group contracts, group resume, group commissions and coach transfers are properly documented and facilitated.
  3. Overall main in charge for group bookings and that includes managing of various group bookings platforms - IHG Meeting Broker/ CVENT/ TagVenue and others
  4. Overall administrative in charge for annual corporate rates renewal exercise in maintaining records/ documentation/ rates loading.
  5. Preparation and support of production and sales reports


QUALIFICATIONSAND REQUIREMENTS

  1. Degree/ Diploma in Hotel Management or Business Administration or equivalent
  2. Experience in administration or hotel sales will be a plus
  3. A positive and keen to learn attitude.
  4. Must be proficient in written and spoken English and with good communication skills
