Seamstress cum Linen Attendant

WHAT WILL I ACTUALLY BE DOING?

You have already told us that you are efficient and meticulous by nature and that you love everything to be just right, which means you will feel perfectly at home in this team.

Your day-to-day: Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

• To take full responsibility on Linen, Uniform, Laundry and Houseman task 

• To support Linen & Uniform Supervisor on Linen, Uniform and Houseman also other task assigned

• To take full responsibility in Linen and terry inventory on every 2 months or designed month by superior

• Check numbers of uniforms received, and record number sent to laundry; informs superior of discrepancies.

• Receives and count dirty linen from the floors / F&B, and soiled uniforms from hotel staff.

• Receives and issues linen and uniforms to and from the hotel restaurants and employees, records transactions in proper logbooks.

• To send dirty linen & uniforms to laundry.

• Assists in the inventory taking of all linen, uniforms and supplies.

• Assists seamstress in minor repair of linen and uniforms

• Follows up linen and uniforms in laundry if necessary.

• Checks for defects of all fresh-laundered linen and uniforms.

• Keeps adequate stock and bring up any problem areas to superior.

• Separate torn / damaged or stained linen and uniforms, give to tailor to laundry for spotting / repair.

• Separate unusable for recycling.

• Responsible for receiving and issuing out of uniforms, shoes, stockings socks etc.

• Accountable for all the goods within the linen room.

• Responsible for the linen storage which is expected to cover the hotel’s daily requirement for Style and F&B department.

• Prepares / issues weekly requisition for floors and public area and distributes same.

• Keep the uniform and linen room tidy and clean at all times.

• Repair upholstery as required.

• To keep records up to date, receiving etc.

• Records all incoming deliveries and issues of supplies.

• Maintains cleanliness of working area at all times.

• To report for duty punctually in full regulation uniform.

• To provide a courteous and professional service at all times.

• Check soiled uniforms returned by the staff for damage or stains.

Seamstress Duties
1. Perform alterations and repairs on staff uniforms, guest garments (if applicable), curtains, upholstery, and other fabric items
2. Mend torn linen, replace buttons, zippers, and seams
3. Ensure all uniforms are well-fitted, neat, and presentable
4. Handle sewing machines and tools safely and efficiently
5. Assist with custom tailoring requests when required

It’s a physical role and although there are the usual meetings, briefings and of course emails to check, you will be on your feet most of the day out and about chatting with your guests and your team, so fitness will be key for you, although reasonable adjustments will be made where we can. We would love it if you were multi-lingual, but it’s not essential.
