As a professional in your role, your responsibilities and essential job functions will include but are not limited to:
- Supervise and coordinate all hotel security personnel to ensure the safety and security of guests, staff, and hotel property.
- Monitor hotel premises through surveillance systems, ensuring areas such as entrances, lobbies, guest rooms, parking lots, and other facilities are secure.
- Respond to emergencies and incidents, including accidents, theft, and disputes, ensuring proper reporting and coordination with local authorities when needed.
- Implement and enforce hotel security policies, procedures, and guidelines to maintain a safe environment for guests and staff.
- Provide training and support to security team members on emergency response protocols, guest safety, and hotel security practices.
- Perform regular security checks of the hotel premises, including guest rooms, back-office areas, and external property.
- Maintain detailed incident reports, including any security breaches, disturbances, or accidents.
- Collaborate with hotel management and departments to address any security concerns or specific requirements related to events, VIP guests, or large gatherings.
- Ensure that all hotel security equipment, such as alarms, cameras, and fire safety systems, are maintained and functional.
- Address guest inquiries regarding security and safety, ensuring a positive and reassuring experience.
- Manage access control systems to ensure only authorized personnel and guests are allowed access to restricted areas.
Ideally, you should possess some or all the following qualifications and experience:
- Proven experience as a Security Supervisor, preferably in a hotel or hospitality environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; a degree in Criminal Justice, Security Management, or a related field is a plus.
- In-depth knowledge of hotel security practices, emergency protocols, and safety measures.
- Experience with security systems, including CCTV, alarm systems, and access control technology.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to train, motivate, and direct security personnel.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to handle challenging situations calmly and professionally.
- Ability to respond to emergencies in a quick, decisive, and effective manner.
- High level of attention to detail, particularly in identifying potential security risks or safety hazards.
- Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
- Certification in first aid, CPR, or other safety training is an asset.
- Knowledge of local laws and regulations regarding security, safety, and emergency procedures.
