WHAT WILL I ACTUALLY BE DOING?

 

You have already told us that you are driven and detailed by nature and that you love everything to be just right, which means you will feel perfectly at home in this team.

 

Regarding the role, as the job title says, you’ll be making sure all the security and safety of guests and associates are never compromised.

 

Part of the role is physical, and you will be on your feet some of the day, so fitness will be key for you, although reasonable adjustments will be made where we can. There are a lot of people around the hotel, so you will need to be able to communicate well with everyone. We would love it if you were multilingual, but it’s not essential. 

 

Your day-to-day: Other duties may be assigned as needed.

 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

• Patrol all areas of the property; assist guests with room access. 

• Monitor closed-circuit televisions, perimeter alarm systems, duress alarms, and fire life safety systems.

• Assist guests/employees during emergency situations. Notify appropriate individuals in the event of accidents, attacks, or other incidents. 

• Complete incident reports to document all Security/Loss Prevention related incidents. Handle all interruptions and complaints. Resolve safety hazard situations. 

• Escort any unwelcome persons from the property without interrupting the orderly flow of property operation. 

• Report to scenes of vehicle accidents/thefts. Call for assistance using proper code responses. 

• Follow all company policies and procedures; report accidents and injuries and inform the manager of unsafe work conditions; complete safety training and certifications; ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional; maintain confidentiality of proprietary information; protect company assets. 

• Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards; anticipate and address guests' service needs; assist individuals with disabilities; thank guests with genuine appreciation. Speak with others using clear and professional language; prepare and review written documents accurately and completely.

• Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others; support the team to reach common goals. Comply with quality assurance expectations and standards. Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time. 

• Ensure no undesirables loiter in or around the hotel premises.

• Ensure there is no obstruction to the loading dock and that unauthorized vehicles are removed.

• Engage in staff bag checks and locker checks as directed by Human Resources

Experience of working as Security & Risk Officer would be an added advantage.

 

Must speak local language. Other languages preferred.
