Role Purpose

The Senior Manager, Strategy serves as a core member of the Office of the Americas CEO, owning and advancing key strategic workstreams that shape IHG's Americas region agenda.

This role works across all business functions (Commercial, Operations, Development, Marketing, Finance, HR, etc.) to translate complex business challenges into clear analytical frameworks, actionable recommendations, and executive-ready communications. It also works to drive recommendations forward to action and results.

The ideal candidate brings the structured problem-solving and synthesis skills developed in a top-tier consulting or in-house strategy environment, paired with a strong bias toward action and tangible outcomes.

This is a strategy role, but one that demands an operator's urgency.

Key Accountabilities

  • Own strategic workstreams end-to-end: Take full ownership of high-priority strategic initiatives from problem structuring through execution and measurement, operating independently across all Americas business functions and managing stakeholders at all levels.
  • Drive analysis to action: Lead rigorous, hypothesis-driven analyses on complex business questions, with an expectation that recommendations are not just well-supported but are advanced actively, with clear next steps, owners, and timelines.
  • Executive communication and storytelling: Develop materials for the Americas CEO and senior leadership, including board-level presentations, strategic briefings, and stakeholder communications, with a consistent emphasis on clarity and executive readiness.
  • Competitive and market intelligence: Track performance trends, competitive moves, and market dynamics across the Americas hotel landscape. Translate external signals into timely implications and recommended responses for IHG's strategy.
  • Cross-functional strategic coordination: Partner across all Americas functions to align priorities, remove obstacles, and maintain momentum on strategic initiatives. Serve as a connective layer between the CEO's office and the broader organization.
  • Strategic planning: Contribute to the Americas annual and long-range planning processes, including initiative prioritization and cross-functional alignment. Ensure the strategic agenda stays visible and progressing throughout the year.
