Role Overview
The Sr Analyst, IT Business (Data‑focused Business Analysts) is a senior, hands‑on Business & Data Analyst embedded within a Data Engineering delivery team. This role partners closely with business stakeholders, data architects, and engineers to translate complex business needs into high‑quality data solutions that enable analytics, reporting, and operational decision‑making.
The successful candidate will be comfortable working directly with data, writing SQL queries, exploring datasets, validating outputs, and telling the story of what the data represents to both technical and non‑technical audiences. The role also operates in a product‑oriented, agile environment, owning data requirements from concept through delivery.
Your Day‑to‑Day
- Act as the primary Business & Data Analyst / Product Owner for an agile data engineering team
- Partner with business stakeholders across loyalty, commission services, franchise operations, property operations, and enterprise reference data to understand data needs and priorities
- Perform hands‑on data analysis using SQL to explore datasets, validate requirements, investigate issues, and support business decision‑making
- Translate business requirements into clear user stories, features, acceptance criteria, and supporting artifacts for data engineering teams
- Collaborate with Data Architects and Engineers to develop source‑to‑target mappings, transformation logic, and technical specifications
- Identify gaps between current‑state data/processes and desired future state; recommend practical, scalable solutions
- Support testing and validation by creating test scenarios, verifying data outputs, and ensuring data quality expectations are met
- Communicate clearly and confidently with both technical and non‑technical audiences, using storytelling and data‑driven narratives
- Provide guidance and mentorship to other analysts as a senior individual contributor
- Operate effectively in a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) or Agile environment using Jira and related tools

What You’ll Bring
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent practical experience
Experience
- 7+ years of progressive experience as a Business Analyst, Data Analyst, Product Analyst, or similar role
- Proven experience working with data engineering or analytics teams in an integrated delivery model
- Experience supporting large, cross‑functional, complex initiatives in an agile environment
Required Technical Skills
- Strong SQL skills (required): ability to write queries to explore, analyze, and validate datasets
- Experience working with data engineering concepts, including data integration, transformations, and data pipelines (hands‑on development not required)
- Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and BigQuery or similar cloud data platforms
- Experience translating business requirements into technical specifications and data mappings
- Proficiency using Jira and agile delivery practices
Preferred Skills & Certifications
- SAFe Product Owner/Product Manager (PO/PM) certification
- SAFe Agilist certification
- Experience working with enterprise or reference data, analytics, or reporting solutions

Travel - 10% limited as needed
Location – Atlanta, GA: Our hybrid work structure is an expectation of three (3) days a week in office. This expectation may be adjusted to evolve with the changing needs of the business.
The salary range for this role is $106,000 to $120,000. This role is also eligible for bonus pay. We offer a comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance, 401K, and other benefits to employees.
