Your Day to Day
As a Steward, you will play an important role in supporting our kitchens and Food & Beverage operations by maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, sanitation, and organisation throughout the back-of-house areas.
You will work closely with our Culinary and Food & Beverage teams to ensure that all kitchen equipment, utensils, crockery, and service items are cleaned, sanitised, and readily available for daily operations.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Clean and sanitise kitchen equipment, utensils, crockery, cutlery, and other operating equipment.
- Operate dishwashing and cleaning equipment safely and correctly.
- Ensure all items are cleaned and sanitised to the required hotel and food safety standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in kitchens, dishwashing areas, stores, and other back-of-house areas.
- Support the Culinary and Food & Beverage teams with the timely delivery and collection of clean equipment and utensils.
- Ensure kitchen equipment and operating supplies are stored correctly and safely.
- Assist with the movement and handling of kitchen equipment, supplies, and deliveries when required.
- Maintain clean and organised stewarding areas throughout the shift.
- Follow all cleaning schedules and departmental procedures.
- Handle cleaning chemicals safely and according to established instructions.
- Ensure appropriate personal protective equipment is used when required.
- Support waste collection, segregation, and disposal in accordance with hotel procedures.
- Help minimise breakage, wastage, and unnecessary use of water, chemicals, and other resources.
- Report damaged equipment, maintenance issues, safety hazards, or shortages to the Stewarding Supervisor.
- Follow all HACCP, hygiene, health, safety, and hotel standards.
- Support the team during busy service periods, special events, banquets, and other high-volume operations.
Maintain a professional, respectful, and cooperative attitude towards colleagues at all times.
What we need from you:
- Previous experience in Stewarding, Kitchen Operations, Housekeeping, or a similar hospitality environment is an advantage.
- Previous hotel or restaurant experience is preferred, but training can be provided for suitable candidates.
- Basic understanding of hygiene and cleanliness standards.
- Ability to work as part of a multicultural team.
- Hardworking, reliable, and responsible attitude.
- Good attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment.
- Willingness to learn and follow established procedures.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Physically fit and able to stand and move for extended periods.
- Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
