About This Job
As a Stewarding Supervisor, you will oversee the stewarding operations of the kitchen and back-of-house areas, ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and organization. You will lead the stewarding team to support the culinary and food & beverage departments while upholding hotel service standards and contributing to an exceptional guest experience.
Responsibilities:· Supervise and coordinate daily stewarding activities to ensure cleanliness and sanitation in all kitchen and back-of-house areas.
· Ensure that all cleaning schedules are followed, and that areas are maintained to hygiene and safety standards.
· Lead, train, and motivate the stewarding team, maintaining high performance and team morale.
· Manage the washing and storage of all kitchen equipment, utensils, and dishware.
· Monitor inventory of cleaning supplies, chemicals, and kitchen equipment; place orders as required.
· Ensure proper handling, usage, and maintenance of cleaning machinery and chemicals.
· Work closely with the culinary and F&B teams to ensure seamless operations and support during service periods.
· Assist with banquet and event setups from a stewarding perspective.
· Conduct regular inspections of stewarding areas and take corrective action as necessary.
· Support safety and hygiene audits and ensure compliance with food safety regulations and hotel policies.
· Maintain accurate records of breakages, cleaning schedules, and team rosters.
· Ensure the stewarding team adheres to all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines.
· Assist in scheduling and organizing shift coverage for stewarding operations.
Note: The duties and responsibilities described are not exhaustive and additional tasks may be assigned as required by hotel operations.
Requirements:· Previous experience in stewarding or kitchen operations, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory role, preferably in a 4- or 5-star hotel.
· Strong understanding of hygiene, food safety (HACCP), and sanitation standards.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to lead and motivate a multicultural team.
· Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
· Flexible availability including weekends, holidays, and varying shifts.
· Ability to work efficiently under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
· Basic computer knowledge and ability to maintain operational records.
