Role Purpose
The Task Force Director of Food & Beverage is responsible for overseeing the daily operations and staff of all food and beverage departments at full-service properties. This role ensures the highest quality standards, operational efficiency, and a positive guest experience. Working closely with the property GM, the director will manage financial performance, drive operational improvements, and maintain consistency across departments. Additionally, they will lead with compassion, providing guidance and support to staff while fostering a high-performing team environment.
Key Accountabilities
• Attend weekly Executive Committee & Department Head meetings or as scheduled
• Communicate all banquet and event activity property-wide
• Ensure staff under his/her supervision adhere to all company policies and procedures
• Respond to guest needs in a timely fashion
• Ensure that implementation and maintenance of quality standards of food, beverage, and customer service are adhered to in all areas
• Monitor and address that effective cost controls for food, beverage and labor are in place
• Assist as needed with month-end inventory and food & beverage costing
• Oversee hiring processes and training programs of food & beverage personnel
• Responsible for taking corrective action and properly documenting unsatisfactory performance
• Be prepared to assist as needed in any and all food & beverage areas
• Perform any additional tasks as needed by the General Manager
Key Skills & Experiences
Education –
Bachelor's Degree in Hotel Management, Human Resources, or a relevant field of work, or an equivalent combination of education and work related experience.
Experience –
5 to 7 years progressive work-related experience. Experience in restaurant, bar and banquet operations. Previous task force experience is preferred.
Technical Skills and Knowledge -
- Demonstrated expertise in operations, product/quality, service, F&B and people tools/processes
- Able to coordinate with FPS to deliver support that is most needed
- Ability to interpret restaurant performance data to reach actionable insights to drive performance
- Sufficient relationship-building/communications skills to develop trust with hotels to drive results
- Demonstrated leadership, coaching and training skills. Ability to inspire others.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and projects with effective follow-through and attention to detail.
- Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills for the purpose of providing information to clients, management and colleagues.
- Demonstrated knowledge of training principles and procedures required in virtual and live classroom settings.
- Strong problem solving and time management skills required.
- Conflict management/resolution and negotiation/persuasion skills critical.
- Demonstrated effective facilitation skills and ability to lead group discussions for most effective results.
- Must be able to work effectively with GMs and leadership teams in assigned hotels, and possess strong relationship development/management skills. Conflict management/resolution and negotiation/persuasion skills critical.
